We are happy happy to give advice about travelling in Ghana and everything that comes with it. Read more about Ghana in our blog.

TRAVELLING AROUND GHANA, CAN YOU DO THAT ON YOUR OWN?

Yes, you can! If you read well, have some travel experience, use common sense and in addition to all the information sources like Google and social media, you can also buy a good travel guide book. A travel guide, like the Bradt guide Ghana, provides practical information, but also a lot of details. From experience I know that during a trip through Ghana you can not only rely on Google maps.

We are ready to help you explore this beautiful part of Africa!

Although we know that you can travel Ghana on your own, we have something special to offer; Dive into authentic Ashanti with us. After this competely arranged tour you will have seen Ghana through the eyes of the locals.

“I recently spent two nights and three days at BWO hostel. They arranged our transportation and organized guided tours for us. They are ecologically minded and working to provide a sustainable model.

The rooms were clean and comfortable with good screens, fans, and mosquito nets. The bathrooms were clean and functional. Only cold water in the shower, but they will provide hot water for washing on request.

There is a common room as well as a wonderful, outdoor covered area for dining and lounging. The extensive garden features native plants and provides a setting that belies the guesthouse’s location on the main road. For those that need to stay connected, there is good wifi.

The food is amazing. Pat and her team can handle just about any food restrictions and she specializes in delicious, vegetarian and vegan dishes using local ingredients. We chose to have a bbq one evening, but they also offer a cooking workshop to learn local cooking techniques and dishes.

Touring – Emmanuel and Ike provided tours to Manhiya Palace, Kejetia Market, and the Cultural Center in Kumasi. We went hiking in Bomfobiri Forest Preserve which is just 20 minutes from the guesthouse and toured a Kente weaving center in Adanwomase.

Banko Women’s Organization – one of the highlights of our visit was touring the local village and seeing the work that Pat and Moon and Star Guesthouse do to support the local community. Proceeds from the Guesthouse help fund trade schools for sewing and cosomotology; cooking seminars to train professional cooks; and fund community improvement projects.

I can’t say enough good things about our experience with BWO. I expect to return”
