Unique place in a lovely and calm part of Ghana, truly a discovery!
We were there for a couple of days and Patricia made us feel immediately at home. Awesome food all around, from breakfast to dinner and lovely idea of making some workshop about local food!
Definitely a recommendation to anyone who’s travelling in Ghana and wants to spend a few days in a calm and cozy place.
I had a wonderful stay with Patricia and her BWO crew. Not only is it a beautiful place where you can relax on the beautiful terrasse and get awesome food (also vegan/vegetarian). Patricia also does her best to work ecologically and socially responsible by saving plastic, using mostly local resources and connecting her business to Banko Women Organiation to empower women.
There is a lot to do: go hiking to the nearby prayer mountain or in Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary, take a village tour, and much more.
I thus did not only enjoy my stay a lot but also gained highly valuable perspectives on Ghana.

We did the ultimate experience Ashanti tour (instead of a shorter one), because we thought that all activities would be valueable to our experience of Banko and surroundings. It really was a nice tour! We visited exclusive places such as traditional shrines and Prayer’s Mountain and learned a lot. It was nice to be accompanied by lovely tourguides who, since they’re familiar with the place, really add value to the conversations that we had there. The host Pat is also amazing. Together they will make you feel welcome and make sure you’ll enjoy your stay. You can ask them anything.
My stay at BWO hostel was the highlight of my trip to Ghana. Your delightful lodge, the wonderful meals, the evening BBQ, the carefully guided tours – all of it was a magnificent package. I realized a lifetime dream to sit in a waterfall. It was ecstasy! Trekking into the national sanctuary with Mr. Emmanuel, the transport crew, and Park Ranger Daniel was, in itself, a fantastic way to spend a day in the wild. My family felt protected during our exciting hike into the nature reserve. I wouldn’t have ventured into the falls without that security and would have missed (most likely) my last chance for a tremendous moment. The evening BBQ was a lovely way to unwind and interact with the guesthouse team.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. Thank you for being where you are, the way you operate, and the cause you support.
Sincerely,
